Die weltbesten Eiskletterer in Valle di Daone

Vom 19. bis 21. Januar versammelt sich die internationale Eiskletter-Elite in Valle di Daone zum Ice Master World Cup 2007, eine der wichtigsten Stationen des World-Cup-Turnus.

The Ice Master World Cup, it’s the competition of the year, the most technical, innovative and hardest in the entire ice axe and crampon competition circuit. It has always been this way, from 2001, when the athletes gathered in Valle di Daone- Italy- to win one of the most important stages of the World Cup circuit. And it will definitely be even more important this year, as up for grabs is the Ice Climbing World Cup and World Championship Ice Bouldering title. And it will be, once again, a great occasion to measure the ice climbers’ abilities, to see how hard ice climbing and dry tooling can really go.

It’ll be ice bouldering as we’ve never seen it before: the hardest problems imaginable, way beyond the vertical, interpreted with just two ice axes and a set of crampons. The competition gets underway on the evening of  Thursday 18 when the athletes will arrive. Friday 19 January on morning things begin in earnest at the Climbing Stadium, which hosts the new one and most innovative ice structure in the world, for this new season of competition. Three qualification routes will make the start of the World Cup ice competition, till  when in the late afternoon start the opening ceremony and presentation of athletes.

Saturday 20 January lead to the Semi-finals. Sunday 21 the grand finale takes place, with the best 8 men and women contending for the title. Next stop Valle di Daone therefore, wit the best ice climbers in the world.

The Ice Master World Cup of the Valley of Daone - the most prestigious and rich appointment of tradition in the international circuit of the competitions of climb on ice in Europe. The world (that they will have disputed him since 19 to January 21) competitions will be not only of the many events that the Valley of Daone will entertain within the Ice Master World Cup.

From 19 to January 28 it will be held in fact the ninth edition of the International Ice Meeting Pareti di Cristallo, open to all the keen on ice climbing. In the same time for the young ones the third edition of the educational is turned instead "The school and the mountain".
